Barbara A. Conners, 81

Barbara A. Conners, 81, passed away peacefully at her home on Whitefish Lake on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007.

Barbara enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a champion of Native American people and their concerns for healthcare and education. She was known for her warm, loving and most generous nature and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John D. Conners; her six children, Patti Conners of Kennewick, Wash., Tom and Jan Conners of Great Falls, Doug and Linda Conners of Kalispell, John P. and Sue Conners of Whitefish, Jeff and Barbara Conners of Windsor, Calif., and Mike and Tracy Conners of Kalispell; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Lough of Vacaville, Calif., and Dorothy Jones of Great Falls; numerous nieces and nephews; and family friends.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish.A mass will be held to celebrate Barbara's life at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Whitefish with Rev. Pat Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Whitefish Cemetery in Whitefish.

The family suggests memorial donations in lieu of flowers and may be made in Barbara's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
