Jackie Mee pours in 35 points for Libby

LIBBY - Jackie Mee poured in a season high 35 points in Libby's 65-44 nonconference girls' basketball victory Saturday night over Lincoln County rival Eureka.

Mee nailed three of her four 3-point field goals for the game in the opening quarter. She had 19 points in the first half as the Loggers led 33-23.

Mee added 16 points in the final half.

The 6-foot sophomore center had an exceptional performance at the free throw line, sinking 15 of 17 foul shots.

Mariah Newell was the scoring leader for Eureka with 12 points.

RONAN - Amanda Ormsby's 15 points led a balanced attack as Whitefish stormed past Ronan in a Northwestern A conference contest.

Ashley Ferda helped out with 14 points and and Katie Klundt added 12.

Jordan Strozzi tallied 10 points for Ronan.

POLSON - Alyssa Fierro scored 12 points and Roxy Thurman added another 11 as Bigfork built a big lead and then held on for dear life to defeat Northwestern A opponent Polson.

Polson (2-4) which was outscored 13-2 in the first quarter, battled to within a bucket, but wasn't able to get a final shot off before the buzzer.

"We dug ourselves a hole early," said Pirate coach Randy Kelley.

"We just kind of whittled (the lead) away. I felt good about the second half," Kelley said.

The Pirates turned the ball over 26 times on the night.

"Most of those came in the first half," Kelley said.

Callie Hislop and Jessica Buckless paced the Pirates with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Merilee Mowbray and Nicole Davey each added six offensive rebounds for the Pirates.

Polson is off now until Jan. 5 when it travels to Columbia Falls.

MISSOULA - Columbia Falls had four players out with the flu and Missoula Sentinel took full advantage of that.

Sentinel outscored the tired Wildkats 32-11 in the final half.

Alyssa Ladenberg had 12 points to lead Columbia Falls.
