Police check out assault report

| February 2, 2007 1:00 AM

Kalispell police are investigating an assault that allegedly occurred at an area motel, after an emergency-room worker reported a patient with injuries Wednesday afternoon.

Sudden snow sent several vehicles into slides and, as a result, into each other and off roadways in the late afternoon and evening.

Maybe the driver was just in a hurry, but the officer found that the red light at North Meridian and Two Mile Drive actually did change to green just as it was supposed to.

Prescription drugs were reported stolen from a vehicle.

The front-door glass was shattered but not broken out, so apparently nobody actually gained entry to the convenience store on Meridian.

A bike had been in the same spot at the Juvenile Detention Center since before Christmas. That was long enough to get it sent off to storage.

A city ice truck backed into a maintenance van in the city shop parking lot.

Nice People Report No. 329: Another driver left a note on a parked car the driver hit while backing out of a driveway. The driver had to leave for work, and called police with the information just to be sure everything was copacetic.

Somebody left a cat in an empty room at a local motel. The hapless kitty was taken to the animal shelter.
