Christopher J. Royce, 59

Christopher J. Royce, 59, passed away unexpectedly at his Kalispell home Jan. 24, 2007. Christopher was born May 30, 1947, in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Lee Royce, both now deceased.

Among the places he resided in his lifetime were Edmonton, Alberta; London, England; Vancouver, British Columbia, Sydney, Australia; Portland; the Philadelphia area; and Jamestown, N.C. In each place he left memories for the friends that remain behind, including Ron Benson, John Fedchuck, Angelo Grasso, Andrew Stewart and Gayle Roberts.

Christopher was employed as an Oracle DBA with several companies: Rothmans of Australia, Meridian, Lifestyle Furnishings and Teva pharmaceuticals.

Christopher experienced life to the fullest. His passions included being an avid skier, active in several chapters of the Porsche Club, and enjoying track days and riding motorcycles.

In 1988, he was a torch carrier for Canada in the Calgary Olympics, and he also competed in the Royal Victoria Marathon.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Royce, in Jamestown; his sister, Janet Royce Carter, her husband, Clay Carter, and Clea Royce Carter in Australia; nephew, Tristan Royce Carter, in California; aunt, Rosemary Geiger, and husband in Friendswood, Texas; uncles, Joseph Summerlin in Spring, Texas, and Wayman Summerlin in Butte. Also surviving are numerous cousins, including Stanley Geiger in Austin, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell.
