A thong is borne - barely

The bearded man with scruffy dark hair was too sexy for his shirt, his pants - and everything else but his thong. The other people at Wayfarers State Park on Saturday didn't appreciate the show.

An intoxicated Hungry Horse man wasn't welcome at a buddy's house late Friday night but refused to leave. When Flathead County Sheriff's deputies arrived, he tried to run, but they caught him when he failed to clear a chain-link fence. He was arrested.

It took more than four hours Friday night for deputies and personnel from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to rescue four youths from an island in the middle of the Flathead River. They and five of their friends had begun their float trip at the Presentine Bar fishing access and made it almost to the Kalispell city limits when they got hung up on a log jam at about 10 p.m.

Four youths swam to the banks and two more decided to continue floating downstream. The other four were too scared to do either. After unsuccessful attempts because of shallow water and a broken WaveRunner, they finally were rescued with the use of a 15-foot shallow draft boat.

Whitefish Stage residents returned from a day at the lake to find their truck window smashed. Someone stole a chains, several DVDs and a subwoofer from their neighbor's vehicle.

Someone blew up a mailbox with a sparkler bomb on Lake Blaine Road.

A disoriented woman who showed up at a home on Bay Harbor Drive in Bigfork had been in a motorcycle accident on Holt Drive. She was taken to the hospital.

A woman said she got her swollen eye when she was assaulted in front of the Garden Bar.

A man was arrested for assault after reportedly beating up a woman at Mountain Villa Apartments.

No one has heard from the woman bound for Bigfork since she left Friday.

Water toys are missing from an Echo Lake Road residence.

Someone swiped a man's shoes and clothes while he was swimming in Lakeside.
