Violette Ruth Gilchrist, 88

Violette Ruth Gilchrist, 88, passed away Monday, July 9, 2007, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. She was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Peerless (near Scobey), to George and Clara (Frederickson) Ruth.

Violette married Eugene Goulet in 1936 and they had three children.

Eugene died in 1955. She then married Ernest Gilchrist in 1958 and he had four children. He passed away in 1995.

Violette was a homemaker and a clerk at Safeway, Buttrey and Montgomery Wards.

She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one sister, Hazel; and three brothers Ray, Laurence and George.

She is survived by all seven of her children - five sons, Darryl Goulet of Kalispell, Bruce Goulet of Lakewood, Colo., Van Gilchrist of Kalispell, and Bill Gilchrist and Doug Gilchrist, both of Palm Springs, Calif.; and two daughters, Faye Goulet of Kalispell and Carol Benedetti of Great Falls.

Memorial services for Violette Gilchrist will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 13, in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel. A private urn burial will be held at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation.

The family suggests memorials be given to Epworth Methodist Church or the Kalispell Senior Center.
