Fugitive to be extradited

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies will extradite a 20-year-old man they arrested Wednesday after a foot chase near a convenience store on U.S. 2 in Hungry Horse. He has a $25,000 warrant in Missouri. Deputies were called to the scene after he got into a fight with another man, who got away. He was arrested for possession of alcohol and resisting arrest. His first mistake: running from deputies. His second mistake: making that decision after deputies had cuffed him.

A 15-year-old boy was reportedly sitting in his car at a red light at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Montana 206. When the light changed, the car in front of him suddenly sped up and stopped, causing a rear-end collision. The man who was rear-ended jumped out of his car, repeatedly threatened the 15-year-old with physical harm, and demanded his money. The boy gave him $20 and the angry driver took off. He was driving a blue Dodge Intrepid and could face robbery charges.

Patrons vandalized the furniture in a motel room in Columbia Heights after a spat with the manager. The manager had asked them to leave.

Deputies found graffiti on the side on Somers School. Picnic tables and panels from under the eaves of the roof were also vandalized.

A person received a strange call from a total stranger who proceeded to rant and rave at them.

Deputies were notified of a Dodge Durango traveling north from Lake County after someone observed it pull over and a woman take off running away from it as fast as she could.

A man was shoved by another man in the bathroom of a restaurant on Montana 35.

A child was locked in a car on Marjorie Street in Columbia Falls. At least it was running and the air conditioning was on. A wrecker was eventually called to solve the problem.

Two women were cited for shoplifting from the same store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. The incidents occurred two hours apart.

A woman came into the Sheriff's Office lobby claiming her ex-husband was chasing her.

Deputies are following up a report of cruelty to horses on Conn Road.

A man's son-in-law cornered him at the Marion Post Office and tried to start a fight. Parties were separated and counseled.

Tools were stolen from the back of a truck parked at a bar on U.S. 2 and Montana 40.

Kids in a white truck were seen throwing eggs at businesses on U.S. 2.

A man ran into a convenience store on U.S. 2 and stole a cube of Natural Light. Deputies caught up with the car a little further down the road, cited the thief and returned the beer.
