COLUMBIA FALLS - Weston Chambers tossed a one-hitter as the Class AA Glacier Twins beat Gonzaga Prep 10-0 Friday morning at the 23rd Annual Sapa-Johnsrud Memorial Baseball Tournament at Sapa-Johnsrud Field.

The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

"It was good to see him dialed in," Glacier coach Jarod Grubb said of Chambers. "All our guys are dialed in right now."

The Twins' second straight victory improved them to 3-1 in American Division tournament pool play, earning them a berth in today's No. 2 seed game against the National Division Spokane Dodgers at 5:15 p.m.

"They hit the ball around real well," Grubb said of the Dodgers, "but we've got Zane (Ridings) on the hill. It will be a good matchup. It's more of a fun day (today) than a viciously competitive day."

The Twins evened their overall American Legion mark to 24-24. They resume Western AA conference play Tuesday when they visit the Kalispell Lakers at 7 p.m.

"We're feeling great coming into our big two weeks of conference games," Grubb said.
