Kalispell police hope that someone will know why the missing caged bird sings, and then will sing like a canary.

Someone stole a $600 gold cap conure - a member of the parakeet family - from Petco on U.S. 93 North early Saturday evening. A quick Internet check described these Brazilian-based birds as mostly green with dabs of reds, oranges and yellows - with playful "clownlike" personalities and loud screeching voices.

Someone who lives among the dark margarines of society in a white Grand Prix threw at butter knife at a man at the intersection of Fourth Avenue West and 11th Street early Sunday morning, and drove away. Then the car returned to try to run the man over, but struck his cousin instead. No one needed hospitalization. Police have a suspect.

Police ticketed a 22-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving on Third Avenue East early Sunday morning.

A house window now was shot out Sunday morning on Seventh Avenue EN.

A Saturday evening traffic stop on Sunset led to a 20-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy being cited for possessing alcohol with the 16-year-old also getting busted for having drugs.

A camera was stolen Saturday evening from a vehicle at the West Idaho Street Town Pump.

At least $25 were stolen from a tip jar at the intersection of Fifth Avenue West and Center Street. The name of the business was not available.

Two guns were stolen from a vehicle at the Sawbucks parking lot Saturday afternoon.
