May Ethel Hall, 101, passed away in Spokane on Sunday, July 22, 2007, where she had lived for the past nine years. She enjoyed a long, rich life "filled with the many blessings of a loving family and friends."

May was born near Galata, on Sept. 12, 1905, to Royal S. and Emily Caroline Wood. She moved to Great Falls with her mother in 1909, and attended McKinley School. Later, she moved to Shepherd, with her mother and beloved stepfather, Ben Bunker.

On Dec. 3, 1923, she married John Louis Hall in Billings. They lived in the Shepherd area until 1932, when they moved to their farm south of Sun River. May and John farmed there until his death in 1973. She remained at their home until 1978 when she sold the farm and moved to Great Falls.

May was an amazing lady, known to many as "Grammy," who lived life to the fullest. She was the family historian and a 4-H leader. She loved her flowers, horses, crocheting, sewing, making ceramics, baking special treats and entertaining in her home. After she moved to Great Falls, she participated in a pool league, Granny Scouts, and various craft groups. She touched and enriched the lives of all who knew her. She made each grandchild feel he or she was her favorite.

May and John had three daughters, Elizabeth Lucille "Betty Lou," Marjorie Arm, and Emily May.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, John L. Hall; her parents and stepfather; her brother, Eugene Bunker; and sisters, Mary Benjamin and Hazel Zell; and by a great-grandson, Zachary Paul Gilmore.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty Lou and Floyd Rada, Marjorie Ann and Paul Gilmore, and Emily May and Don Bogut. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Beverly Rada and John Hollensteiner, Jeanne Rada and Jim Hinman, John P. and Victoria Gilmore, Michael D. and Valerie Gilmore, J. Scott and Karyn Bogut, and Angela D. Bogut; as well as seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. May is also survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret Bunker Deering; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, July 27 at the Sun River Cemetery and conducted by Pastor Evelyn Kunkel. After the interment service, coffee and dessert will be served at the Sun River Methodist Church.

Memorials may be sent to the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind in Great Falls or to your favorite charity.
