Smoking dangerous to more than health

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies counseled a man and a woman in Hungry Horse who got into a dispute over a cigarette.

A tool box, weed trimmer and router were stolen from a house on First Avenue North in Hungry Horse.

Logs were cut and ready to be hauled on private property at Paola Creek near Essex, without the owner's permission.

Despite it being the middle of summer, somebody felt a pressing need for snow tires. A set was stolen from Teakettle Road in Columbia Falls.

A dog locked in a car at a big box store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen was cooler than the animal control warden who responded. The dog had air conditioning.

A man jumped out of a car and showed another person a bat in the parking lot of a sporting goods store on U.S. 2.

Deputies received a complaint about a person spreading oil on Deer Creek Road in Lakeside to control the dust.

A man and a woman got into a quarrel on Hilltop Road in Columbia Falls.

A trespasser on Grand Drive left the property yelling and calling names.

A group of kids with nothing better to do on a Thursday night were yelling profanities and exposing themselves at the Echo Lake boat launch.

A woman at a Hungry Horse tavern called deputies when she saw the suspects who had earlier stolen her purse. Officers were unable to find anybody connected to the matter when they arrived.

A person was reported missing at the Old Steel Bridge, but they were found before the caller got off the phone with 911 dispatchers.
