Taylor King went 3-for-4 and Connor Dwyer kept Kalispell hitters off balance with his strong pitching as the Missoula Mavericks downed the Lakers 9-1 Sunday at Griffin Field.

King homered in the contest and finished with two RBIs.

Dwyer and Travis Johnsen checked Kalispell on seven hits. Kalispell's lone run came in the eighth inning.

Missoula led 6-0 after seven innings.

Tyler Reichhoff pitched seven innings for Kalispell before giving way to Greg Neils.

"Tyler Reichhoff had a good performance on the hill," said Lakers coach Ryan Malmin.

"We just didn't execute defensively like we needed to."

John White was the only Laker to finish with two hits. Austin Zapata had Kalispell's lone extra base hit, a double.

"Dwyer had very good command of his pitches," Malmin said.

"He kept us off balance with his change-up."

Kalispell, 2-1 in league and 17-7 overall, faces the Mavs, 1-0 and 19-9, today in Missoula, 6 p.m.
