Police find bloody wallet, no charges filed

Flathead County sheriff's deputies found a lost wallet covered in blood on Pheasant Drive in Evergreen Monday. Police talked to the wallet's owner, who admitted to an altercation and an unwillingness to pursue charges.

An 8-year-old boy got his leg stuck in a toy Monday. The fire department arrived and freed him without any injuries.

Deputies were called to remove an uncooperative drunk from the Wal-mart parking lot.

An unknown thief stole both a Canadian and American flag from a building in Whitefish.

A 10-year-old Columbia Falls boy received a puncture wound to his leg after he tried to drill a hole through a live bullet and it exploded. He was not injured badly enough to be taken to the hospital. Both the boy and his parents were counseled on how to treat live ammunition.

Two neighbors on Tavern Lane got into an argument about driving too fast and kicking up dirt on the road.

Police responded to a report of a possible stranded boater on Woods Bay. He was gone when police arrived, so clearly he wasn't that badly stranded.

Strong winds Monday evening pushed over a tree onto Derns Road.

Police broke up a domestic disturbance after a man verbally threatened a woman and then tried to break into her locked home.

A man attacked a groundskeeper on a Kalispell golf course Tuesday because he was mowing the grass at 6 in the morning. The attacker tried to first beat up the groundskeeper, and then his lawn mower, with an ax handle. He was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

Deputies received a report of two rifles stolen from a parked, unlocked car sometime in the last three weeks.
