Iverson, Ray, Cameron junior golf champions

Larry Iverson of Kalispell won the 16-17 boys' division golf title at the Montana State Junior Championships Monday at Whitefish Lake Golf Club.

Iverson and Jake Willson of Corvallis both shot 72 for 18 holes, but Iverson took top honors with a scorecard playoff.

Other division winners for the boys were: 13-and-Under - Ryan Flink, Missoula, 79; 14-15 - Colin Gunstream, Missoula, 75.

For the girls, Chelsea Ray of Whitefish had the best round of the day with an 83. She won the 16-17 division title. Other winners: 13-and-Under - Maggie Crippen, Missoula, 104; 14-15 - Breanna Cameron, Whitefish, 90.

A total of 95 boys and girls from Hamilton, Missoula, Seeley Lake, Thompson Falls, Polson, Ronan, Plains, Libby, Kalispell, Columbia Falls, Whitefish, Browning and East Glacier competed on the north course.

Those who placed in the top four in the girls' and boys' divisions and are 14-17 years of age will be invited to play on the Montana Junior America's cup team.

The boys' junior cup will be held at Morgan Run Golf and Resort in San Diego, Calif., July 29-Aug 2. The girls' junior cup will take place at Waverly Country Club in Portland, Ore., on the same dates.

The top two 15, 16 and 17 year old boys and girls will be invited to play in the Montana/Alberta Cup in Lethbridge, Alberta, Aug. 12-14.
