Fight over a girlfriend leads to arrest

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 19-year-old man for aggravated assault after he allegedly punched and kicked a 21-year-old man in the face over a girlfriend, detectives said. Circumstances of the reported assault are still under investigation.

Deputies received a report of a possible explosive device Monday on Pine Needle Lane in Bigfork. The caller didn't seem too concerned since officers found no one at home and the garage locked, the Inter Lake reported. The call, it turns out, was over a simple Fourth of July smoke bomb.

They also responded to a yelling match between two neighbors on Harmony Road in Evergreen.

Deputies responded Tuesday to a 60-year-old man who overdosed on prescription drugs and alcohol. He was taken to North Valley Hospital. Less than an hour later, they responded to 23-year-old man who overdosed on anti-depressants. Deputies took him to the hospital as well.

A 21-year-old man was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center after a motorcycle accident on U.S. 93 left him bleeding from the head and with at least one broken leg.

Three men were seen throwing punches on the side of U.S. 2 in Evergreen.

Deputies broke up a verbal altercation between a repo man trying to collect an RV and the former owner, who clearly didn't want him to take it.

Deputies responded to an assault call after a 33-year-old man allegedly slapped his daughter across the face in Hungry Horse. No one was arrested. The girl went to her mother's house.

They also went to Martin City to answer a disturbance call.

A boat reported stolen was found in Lake County.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested for criminal mischief after he tried to break into his own house.
