City government seeks board members

It's time to ask not what Kalispell can do for you, but what you can do for Kalispell.

Nineteen spots are open or will become open soon on 11 Kalispell government boards.

People interested in applying for those slots should send letters by April 17 to Mayor Pam Kennedy, P.O. Box 1997, Kalispell, 59903, or drop the letters off at city hall.

The Kalispell City Council is scheduled to make the appointments May 7.

Here are the openings:

. Board of Adjustment - One opening to fill a term that expires April 30, 2008.

. Airport Advisory Council - Two openings for three-year terms.

. Architectural Review Board - One opening to run until the board member resigns.

. Conrad Mansion Board of Directors - One opening for a four-year term.

. Downtown Business Improvement District Board - Two openings for four-year terms.

. Impact Fee Committee - Two openings for three-year terms.

. Parking Commission - One opening for a four-year term.

. Planning Board - Three openings. Two must be city residents, and the third must be recommended by the Flathead County commissioners. All are two-year terms.

. Police Commission - One opening for a three-year term.

. Street Tree Commission - Four openings for four-year terms.

. Technical Advisory Committee - One opening to run until the committee member resigns.
