Kalispell police investigated more closely after the boy told them he had the cough medicine at school because he had a cold. They weren't buying his story. He ended up in the county Juvenile Detention Center on a probation violation and allegedly possessing an intoxicating substance.

He refused to go into the church, so his dad hit him in the mouth, the 16-year-old boy said. It happened in the county, so a sheriff's deputy went to the house to help them work it out. The boy was on probation, but no word on whether there was forgiveness.

The guy was told to leave Motel 6 when his apparent intoxication became a problem. It only got worse with his yelling and screaming and lying outside near a truck. He was ticketed on an open container violation.

Disorderly conduct was reported at the high school Monday morning.

Something was out of place in the Merganser Drive backyard. It was two horses, which soon were rounded up by the owners. But not before the city animal warden was out with the nags, according to the county dispatch center.

The report from ProClean Car Wash was that the woman hit some things with her car and was now stuck. She needed a tow.

Two adults were arguing at the Vacationer Motel, reportedly about an 8-year-old child. One left on foot, but police found the other behind the motel.
