Steve L. Sklany Jr., 72

Steve L. Sklany Jr., 72, passed Sunday, March 25, 2007, in Kalispell. Steve was born Feb. 18, 1935, in Weyerhauser, Wis., to Steve and Mary Koscom Sklany Sr. He was raised in Chippewa Falls, Wis., where he attended and graduated from school.

Steve married Harriet Heabel on June 21, 1956, in Chicago. They moved to the Flathead Valley in 1967, where he went to work for the Anaconda Aluminum plant. He retired after 32 years of service.

Steve was a longtime member of the NRA, and had been a former chairman of the Kalispell Gun Shows. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved camping.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mary; a granddaughter; and a sister, Joann Divik.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet; children, Claudia and Brad Stanton, Steve and Laura Sklany, Chris and Jenny Sklany, and Eric and Mary Sklany, all of Kalispell; grandchildren, Francis Sklany, Caleb Stanton, Jessica Gemmel, and Josh and Kati Sklany, all of Kalispell; one brother, Ted Sklany, of Virginia; and a sister, Angie, and Bob Holmes of Missouri.

Steve will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
