House damaged; renter arrested

| March 30, 2007 1:00 AM

Whitefish police are investigating what is reported as thousands and thousands of dollars worth of damage done to the interior of a newer rental home Wednesday night on Wisconsin Avenue. A 19-year-old renter there was arrested in connection with criminal mischief after a dispute among the tenants which ended with basketball-sized holes through the walls, destroyed appliances and extensive damage elsewhere, police said. The renter accused of criminal mischief also was booked on an outstanding warrant for being a minor in possession. Another of the renters, also 19, was booked on an outstanding MIP warrant. Tests showed no alcohol was in the systems of the two in custody. The primary tenant on the rental agreement was present, but it was unclear whether that person was charged.
