Cory Douglas Weaver, 57

Cory Douglas Weaver, 57, passed away at his home Friday, April 27, 2007. He was born Jan. 9, 1950, in Marysville, Calif. Cory was raised by his mother, Dorothy, and stepfather, Ira Weaver. Cory grew up in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1968.

He served as a seaman in the U.S. Navy from January 1969 until March 1972, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Cory had worked for Pyramid Mountain lumber company in Seeley Lake, Plum Creek and the oil-fields of eastern Montana. He was also an experienced roofer, tree planter and commercial truck driver.

Cory was an avid Montana outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and huckleberry picking. Cory loved music. He was a talented guitarist and prolific songwriter. He also played the drums, keyboard, banjo and harmonica.

He was married to his first wife, Debbie Guthrie, in 1977. Out of that marriage was born his daughter, Anna Rose. Cory was remarried twice, most recently to Thresa Clapper of Pablo. They were married in May 2003.

Cory was a dedicated father and grandfather, husband, son, brother and friend.

He is survived by his parents; his daughter, Anna Rose, of Salem, Ore., and her husband, Richard; and Cory's granddaughters, Catherine, Christina, Allison and Lauren. He is also survived by his wife, Thresa Weaver, and much loved family including stepson, Coby Johnson, and his wife, Adrienne, and their children; stepdaughter, Melinda Klienhans, and her husband, Jason, and their children; sisters, Judy Shiels, Kathleen Egosque and Vivian O'Connor; brothers, Sam and Nick Weaver; as well as many wonderful friends who thought the world of Cory.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob.

A service and celebration of Cory's life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Lone Pine State Park in Kalispell. A reception will be afterward at another location, depending on the weather.
