BOZEMAN - Kalispell's Class AA American Legion baseball team outplayed Bozeman all day Saturday, but had to settle with a non-conference doubleheader split.

The Lakers out-hit the Bucks, 11-7, in the first game but lost, 6-3. But they made up for the loss in the big way with a 19-run, 16-hit performance in a 19-9 victory, which was shortened to five innings.

The Lakers got as close as 4-3 in the sixth inning when Jacob Scott hit a two-run double, but the Bucks scored two more in the bottom of the sixth. Lakers coach Ryan Malmin said the Lakers stranded more than 10 runners on base.

The Lakers scored seven runs in their first at bats of the second game with Pat Hergesheimer hitting his second AA home run. It was a three-run job. Adam Olson hit his first homer of the year - a two-run dinger - in the fifth inning to close the Lakers scoring.

Brian Sneck delivered his first AA pitching performance, coming in during the second inning, and came away with his first victory. He allowed just three hits and a walk in 3 1-3 innings.

The Lakers are 6-4 and play in Helena today.
