C-Falls blanks Whitefish

COLUMBIA FALLS - Amber James homered in the fifth inning with one runner on and finished the day going 2-for-3 with two RBIs as Columbia Falls blanked Whitefish 7-0 on Monday in Class A softball action.

Columbia Falls outhit Whitefish 10-3. Amanda Richards led the Wildkats with three hits in four plate appearances.

Amanda Millard also went 2-for-4 for the hosts.

Whitefish, 4-6 in league and 4-16 overall, stranded 10 runners in the game. The Bulldogs left the bases loaded in the third inning and left two on in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

"We left too many people on base," said Whitefish coach David Dachs.

"We couldn't get them all the way around."

Whitefish had three key errors in the contest.
