Ellen Arnita "Nita" Glencross, 79, passed away on Thursday evening, May 10, 2007, at her home in Wallace, Idaho, of an apparent heart attack. Nita was born on Feb. 10, 1928, in Meridian, Idaho, to Andy and Velva Rutledge McCorkle. She moved to Burke, Idaho, at a very young age, where she attended school.

Arnita married Jack Glencross on May 24, 1947, at the United Methodist Church in Burke, Idaho.

Nita worked as a cashier, a check-out clerk, a medical receptionist for many years, and as a meat wrapper for several years throughout the Silver Valley. She resided in Black Bear for many years, before moving to Vallard Addition south of Wallace, in 1965. She resided at the family home at the time of her death.

She loved bowling, camping, fishing, and especially gardening, whether it be flower or vegetable gardening. They had one of the nicest yards and gardens year-in and year-out in the valley.

Nita and Jack were avid square dancers, and had traveled around dancing through out the Northwest and Canada. She enjoyed traveling, and had seen much of the United States while visiting with her children who had lived in numerous places.

Nita loved all types of crafts - crocheting, quilting, making dolls, knitting, sewing, ceramic works, painting of crafts items, and had made many Christmas ornaments, made from egg shells - very fragile and very beautiful.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Arnita was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband of 58 years, Jack.

She is survived by her son, Robert, and his wife, Dorothy, Glencross of Kalispell; daughters, Mary Perkins and her husband, Randy, of Kellogg, Idaho, and Debi and her husband, Gary Lawrence, of Walla Walla, Wash.; grandchildren, Robert Hill of Osburn, Idaho, Chris Hansen of Menifee, Calif., Errin, Chris and Whitney Glencross, all of Kalispell, Heather Gray of Kellogg, Idaho, Trisha Martin of Washington, and Mickael Glencross and Amanda Mangardero, both of Walla Walla; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bud McCorkle, Everett McCorkle and Tom McCorkle; and one sister, Nancy McCorkle.
