Gordon swings hot bat for Mission Valley

FLORENCE - Will Gordon went 6-for-8 to lead Polson to a sweep of the Bitterroot Bucs, 7-4 and 7-3, on Sunday in American Legion Class A baseball play.

Gordon went 3-for-4 in both contests. He doubled in the opener and had 2 RBIs.

He also doubled in the second game and drove in another run.

Polson's John Rausch led off the fifth inning in the opener with a home run.

Brandon Thompson, 2-0, went the distance in the first game, striking out 12 and giving up six hits.

Brandon Roy pitched the second game for Polson. He's also 2-0. Roy had five strikeouts and gave up seven hits.

Polson, 4-0 in league and 9-3, hosts the Bitterroot Red Sox on Sunday, 1 p.m.
