Polson, C-Falls, Libby in A tourney

Polson, Corvallis, Laurel and Hamilton all have first-round byes Thursday for the Class A State Softball Tournament in Polson.

Polson finished Western A play 12-0 and posted a 20-2 mark overall.

Polson will face the winner of Frenchtown/Hamilton on Thursday at 5 p.m. on Field 2.

Frenchtown and Hamilton play at 1 p.m. on Field 2.

Joining Polson in the field from Western A are Columbia Falls and Libby.

Columbia Falls went 8-4 in league, 14-7 overall, and earned the No. 2 seed from the Western Division. Libby, 8-4 and 12-10, is seeded No. 3.

Columbia Falls opens tournament play Thursday at 11 a.m. on Field 1 versus Sidney, the fourth seed from the Eastern Division.

Libby plays Billings Central, the third seed from the Eastern Division, also at 11, on Field 2.

Play runs through Saturday with the championship game set for 1 p.m. on Field 2.
