Walter W. 'Walt' Mangels, 89

Walter W, "Walt" Mangels, 89, of Polson passed away from natural causes Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was born July 31, 1917, in Polson.

Walt was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; two sisters, Nelda and Adella Christy; one brother, George; and a granddaughter, Teresa.

He is survived by three sons, W. Gilbert and Joanne Mangels of Polson, Arthur G. and Nell of Dillon, and Charles W. and Teresa of Polson; a sister, Thelma Sherba, of Colorado; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 28, at the Grogan Funeral Home in Polson. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Polson, with the Rev. Aaron Stinnett officiating. Burial will be afterward at Lakeview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Dogs for the Deaf, the Miracle of America Museum or Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
