Couple gets into the frying pan

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 71-year-old man for partner assault after he allegedly shoved his wife during an argument over how to cook bacon. The man became angry after grease from the pan splattered onto the stovetop and his wife wouldn't use a screen to control the mess. Then she became angry because he allegedly shoved her, took over the job, and burned the bacon. Deputies were called in to settle the matter.

Between six and eight mailboxes were smashed and thrown down a hill on U.S. 2.

A car reported stolen out of Kalispell was recovered in a Conrad Drive driveway. Deputies also found drugs inside.

Audio equipment was stolen from cars sitting at a shop on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.

An empty rental house was broken into on U.S. 2. Nothing was missing.

Deputies left a note at a squatter camp east of Hutton Ranch Plaza directing the occupants to move on.

Someone in a newer white station wagon tried to steal a Rabe Road woman's dog out of her driveway.

A man called deputies to report a Lost Prairie-area resident threatened to kill him if he ever came to Montana.

A neighbor reportedly tore down a woman's fence on Blanchard Lake Road.

Deputies counseled two teenage girls threatening each other on South Cedar Drive.

An East Cottonwood Drive girl told deputies she was afraid of her father. She had a friend pick her up and take her to Whitefish.

A man on U.S. 2 near Marion complained that his neighbor's horse kept getting loose and then letting his own horses out.

A car was found in a ditch off Whitefish Stage Road. A man was seen walking northbound away from the wreck, bleeding from the head and trying to get a ride.
