Bill Johnson, 54

Bill Johnson, 54, passed away early Sunday morning, Nov. 4, 2007, due to a one-vehicle car accident. Bill was born Aug. 15,1953, in Eureka, Calif.

He graduated from high school in Santa Rosa, Calif., and then joined the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Later in life he began a sales career at Bitney's Furniture. After 10 years he moved to Ashland, Ore., where he sold flooring at Carpet Mart. He then began a year-long journey around the United States with his family and later moved back to the Flathead Valley where he continued his sales career at Hometown Flooring and then, Roybals Abbey Carpet.

Bill met and married Anita Shoop, the love of his life, in Montana in 1981, and later was blessed with two wonderful sons, Jerry and Jesse.

Bill was well known for his wonderful smile and laughter.

He enjoyed many summers in Colfax, Wash., and at Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho with his aunt, uncles and cousins. He was an avid golfer. He enjoyed being active by riding his bicycle, fishing, hiking, playing basketball, and loved sports in general. His favorite hobby was 'handicapping the horses.'

He enjoyed life to the fullest and always tried to stay physically fit and was meant to be forever young.

Bill is survived by his wife, Anita; two sons, Jesse and Jerry; and all his family and friends who loved him. Everyone who knew him loved him, and he will always be missed.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Buffalo Hills golf course, 1176 North Main. The services will be officiated by Pastor Don Dukes.
