BOISE, Idaho - The Bulldogs weren't ready to see their season end.

Six Whitefish High School cross country athletes ran at the Nike Team National Northwest Regional on Saturday in Boise, Idaho.

The Bulldogs competed in the division for schools with enrollments less than 800.

Loni Hanson led Whitefish's girls, placing third in the 5K race with a time of 19 minutes, 58.3 seconds. She was followed by teammates Lauren Kuennen (seventh, 20:21.6), Kelly Beiser (18th, 21:42.6) and Jessica Sagen (21st, 22:11.1).

Drew Coco paced Whitefish's boys, placing seventh, ahead of fellow Bulldog Patrick McGunagle, who finished 25th. Their times were not immediately available.

"This meet is just the best in the region," Bulldogs coach Bill Brist said. "All the best teams are there, and it's nice for us to come and be a part of it. It kind of shows (the runners) what it takes to be at that next level."
