Cheyanne Kay Renee Coxen "went to be with the Lord and her Papa Earl Coxen" quietly in her sleep on Nov. 18, 2007, in Missoula, surrounded by her loving family, close friends, and favorite Community Medical nurses. Cheyanne came into this world three months early on Aug. 28, 1994, in Corvallis, Ore., with fight and the will to live.

She lived and attended school in Toledo, Ore., until her family moved to Polson in November of 2004. She enjoyed being outside and swimming in Flathead Lake. Cheyanne had a big heart and touched the lives of all who knew her.

She loved popcorn and her favorite past time was watching movies. One of her happiest recent highlights was receiving her wish from Make-A-Wish Foundation, to Disneyland on Nov. 17, 2006, with her parents, sister, and one of her favorite nurses, Maria.

Although she spent a lot of time in the hospital throughout her life, she was a beautiful, brave, strong willed, and determined young lady. Cheyanne always had a smile on her face and never complained no matter how much pain she endured. She was proud to turn 13 and become a teenager this past August.

Cheyanne was preceded in death by her best buddy and papa, Earl Coxen.

She is survived by her parents, Doug and Angie Coxen, and best friend and big sister, Candace Coxen, of Polson; paternal grandma, Frances Coxen of Prineville, Ore.; maternal grandparents, Jerome and Marge Hanson, of Polson; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, godparents, friends and Community Medical nurses.

"Although we will all miss you deeply, Cheyanne, we love you and are comforted by the fact that you no longer have to fight the pain and can run free. God Bless and thank you for the time, love, and courageous spirit you so graciously gave us each day."

Condolences can be sent to Doug, Angie, and Candace Coxen, 902 10th Ave. E., Polson, MT 59860.

All who knew Cheyanne are welcome to join her family for memorial services, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 409 Fourth Ave. E., Polson. A luncheon will follow.

The family requests donations be made in memory of Cheyanne Coxen to the Montana Make-A-Wish Foundation at www.northwestwishes.org.
