Michael Danny Bolla, 61, passed away at his home in Brownsville, Ore., on Sept. 14, 2007.

He was born November 23, 1945 in Bellflower California to Athos and Jean Bolla .

At age 18 he enlisted in the Army. Serving his tour of Vietnam he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for valor and injuries sustained in combat. He was a member of the 11th ACVVC Blackhorse Regiment.

Following his military service Danny owned and operated Bolla PreCast Concrete Products and Bolla Trucking in Kalispell, Montana. He touched many lives in Kalispell and spoke of his friends there often.

In 2002 Danny and Paulette moved to Springfield, Ore. They lived and worked in Springfield until Danny began employment with Weyerhauser Trucking out of Albany, Ore. in 2006. Albany was 52 miles north of Springfield and meant Danny would have to drive 104 extra miles each day. At this time they decided to move closer to his work and found a little house in Brownsville, Ore.

Danny loved his new job and his new home and yard.

Danny is survived by his wife, Paulette, of Brownsville; mother, Jean Christoffers; sister, Jan Piper of Bend, Ore.; his son, Michael Wade Bolla of Long Valley, N.J.; daughter, Stacey Bolla Hughes and their mother, Judy Bolla of Kalispell; stepson, Ryan Campbell of Fort Wayne, Ind.; stepdaughter, Abbrielle L. Bessett and her husband, Zach Bessett of Eugene, Ore.; and six grandchildren.

In memory of his birth and life, his body is at rest with his 'brothers' at Arlington National Cemetery but his spirit remains in his home in Brownsville and in the hearts of all who knew him.
