Family dispute ruffles feathers

Flathead County sheriff's deputies helped settle a Thanksgiving Day dispute between family members on Sixth Street West in Columbia Falls. No one was arrested.

A dog's water dish froze over on Bierney Creek Road. Animal wardens left a message for the owners to get a heated bowl.

Headlights were seen and gunshots were heard on Fourth Avenue West North in Columbia Falls. Somebody thought it may be a poacher, but deputies were unable to find anything illegal.

Several series of two gunshots were heard near Meadow Lake Drive. A concerned resident thought a hunter may be in trouble but couldn't count. Deputies were unable to find anything amiss.

Prescription medication was stolen on Dawn Drive.

A woman kicked her 52-year-old mother out of the house after an argument. The mother was reported as suicidal. Deputies talked with both parties and eventually patched things up between them.

A 36-year-old man, who had been drinking, fell and broke his leg on Frontage Road north of Columbia Falls. He was taken to the hospital via private vehicle.

A 17-year-old Hungry Horse boy came home after drinking and got into a fight with his parents, who called deputies. The boy left, but returned to his Second Avenue South home before deputies could locate him. His parents called back saying everything was fine.

A man was living in a tent in the woods near West Lakeshore Drive in Whitefish. He was using the lake to wash. The person who notified deputies was worried he would freeze to death.

The owner of a horse on Gopher Lane thinks the animal was stabbed in the neck.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on a Kalispell warrant for traffic violations on Pioneer Road.
