Wilma (Jordan) Myers, 90, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. Wilma Beatrix (Jordan) Myers (Mrs. Melvin W. Myers) was born April 1, 1917, in Kalispell, the youngest of the three daughters of Walter Benjamin and Minnie A. (Front) Jordan.

Wilma was baptized and confirmed at Christ Church Episcopal, where she remained a lifelong member. She graduated from Flathead County High School in 1934 and attended the University of Washington in Seattle. Wilma met Mel Myers in Kalispell and they were married Nov. 27, 1943.

Wilma led a life of service to her family, to her church and to her community. She worked at the family restaurant, Jordan's Caf/, and managed the business until 1987. As well as being an active member of Christ Church Episcopal all her life, she was a member of the Rainbow Girls, the ADAH chapter No. 17 Order of Eastern Star, the Sapphira Temple Daughters of the Nile and the Chief Ignace Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Because of her knowledge and interest in the history of Kalispell, Wilma was an invaluable source of inspiration and information for the founding of the Central School Museum. She and her husband, Mel, spent their later years working on projects together for the museum.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Ann Lillian Jordan and Mary Lucille (Jordan) Swanson; her brothers-in-law, Olaf E. Swanson and J. Ray Myers; her sister-in-law, Ila Kossel; and a grandniece, Wendy Christine Sutfin.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families; Margene Berry, Janet Sutfin, Linda Jenkins, Jim Myers, Ken Myers, Ardith Cushing; sister-in-law, Vi Myers; and 19 grandnieces and nephews, who all hold fond memories of her fried chicken dinners and her joyful ragtime piano playing.

Funeral services for Wilma will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Christ Church Episcopal, 215 Third Ave. E., with Father William Baumgarten officiating. Burial will be after services at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial gifts be given to the Central School Museum, 124 Second Ave. E., Kalispell, MT 59901, in Wilma's memory.
