Car check turns up bad check writer

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 26-year-old man on a warrant for issuing bad checks at Lybecks Dike. Deputies went to go check out his car when they saw it sitting there with no lights on. They ran his name, found the warrant, and hauled him in.

The ignition switch to a pickup truck parked at a campground on Helena Flats Road was damaged.

A man on U.S. 2 in Kila told deputies someone stole the title to his truck out of his mailbox.

A woman on Mallard Loop was throwing things around the house. She broke a couple things and left. Her boyfriend called deputies.

A brown pit bull allegedly attacked a person's dog on Kokanee Bend.

Two men and a woman were hanging out around a casino on U.S. 2. They must have looked suspicious because someone called deputies. Officers arrived and arrested a 38-year-old man on warrants for writing bad checks and contempt of court.

A man was gambling at a bar on Montana 35 when another man came up and started calling him dirty names and accusing him of beating his wife. A verbal altercation ensued, but was settled when deputies arrived.

Deputies broke up an argument between a woman and her spouse on Foys Lake Road after her brother called from Colorado to report a disturbance there.

Deputies stopped a car racing through a parking lot at a store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen after a man complained he couldn't sleep because of the racket. One of the passengers was advised of an active misdemeanor warrant.

A man serving 84 months in a Helena pre-release center for robbery escaped.

A Martin City man threatening to hurt himself took off on a four-wheeler. Deputies issued a warrant for him after he tore up the house. His wife and kids went to stay the night somewhere else.a

A bear was hit by a car on Montana 209 near the junction with Montana 83. The bear was injured but ran off into the woods.
