| October 20, 2007 1:00 AM

"Our wonderful Mom and Grammy" passed away in West Vancouver, British Columbia, on Sept. 28, 2007. Smiley or Dot were her lifelong names. She was born June 27, 1917, in Calgary, Alberta, to John and Margaret Phillips and grew up there.

An athlete of some repute, she met her husband Bill on the tennis courts of the Calgary Tennis Club. A long and happy life with good friends and family followed and we were blessed to have been part of their lives.

Over their 53 years together, Mom and Dad lived in Calgary, on Flathead Lake, and in Albuquerque, N.M., Laramie, Wyo., and Fort Collins, Colo.

Mom was predeceased by Dad and is survived by sons, Richard and Mickey in Laramie, and John and Mary Joan in West Vancouver; daughter, Deborah and Jake Jacobsen in Fort Collins; and by grandchildren, Pamela of Athol, Idaho, Christopher of New York City, Timothy of Arcata, Calif., Meika of Toronto, Ontario, Cady of Washington, D.C., Brady of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Meghan of Laramie.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church in Calgary with burial in Queen's Park the second week of June 2008. A reception in Elbow Park will follow. Friends and family are invited.

Arrangements will be handled by McInnis and Holloway, Calgary.
