Stillwater, FV Home School athletes earn tournament, conference honors

Stillwater Christian School's Ryan Thompson, Zach George and David Wirth were named to the Montana Christian Athletic Association all-tournament state team in soccer.

SCS, 16-5-1, captured its sixth straight MCAA state championship over the weekend in Billings.

The Cougars defeated Rimrock Christian High School 7-3, Foothills Community Christian School 5-3 and Yellowstone County Home School 3-2 in the title match in overtime.

Tylan Jones of Yellowstone was named the all-tournament MVP.

George scored a goal in all three SCS matches and finished tournament action with four. That gave him a team high 22 for the season.

Thompson scored goals in two of the three matches and finished with three. He ended the season with 18 goals.

Wirth had one goal in state play.

Those three players were also named to the Western All-Conference team along with teammate Brenton Hemp.

The state runner-up Stillwater volleyball team had two players named to the all-tournament state team.

Abby Smith was named the MVP.

Also selected was Portia Elletson.

Flathead Valley Home School had one selection - Danae Sheeran.

Stillwater had four players picked to the Western All-Conference team: Smith, Elletson, Julia Bray and Dana Topp.

Named all-conference for FVHS were Sheeran and Jenna Sladek.
