Friends don't let friends drink and drive

A man drinking at a bar on Montana 35 in Evergreen wouldn't hand his keys over to his friends. After a small scene, Flathead County Sheriff's deputies arrived and convinced the man to take the ride from his buddies.

Deputies returned to that same bar some minutes later to arrest a 21-year-old man for a probation violation.

A man hit his wife in the head on Bowman Drive. She threw stuff at him, and then climbed through a window and ran away.

A road race was reported on U.S. 93.

Someone busted their car out of impound, without paying the towing company, on Trumble Creek Road. Deputies are investigating.

A bear reportedly tore up a tree in the wilderness.

Deputies warned a man making obscene phone calls to a person who kicked him out of the house on Nicholson Drive to quit.

Somebody complained about a man shooting his rifle into a hillside on U.S. 93. There was nothing deputies could do because he wasn't breaking the law.

A man walked into a convenience store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen and walked out without paying for a couple packs of cigarettes.

A driver was cut off, honked at, and given the finger by another driver on U.S. 2 between Kalispell and Columbia Falls.

An unlocked 1993 Chevrolet Blazer was stolen from out in front of a convenience store at the intersection of U.S. 93 and Montana 82.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault after getting into a fight with another man on First Avenue North in Hungry Horse.

A group of kids playing with their neighbor's pit bull were very rude when asked to leave. The neighbor and the children's parents got together and straightened everything out without the aid of law enforcement.

A bike fell off a truck on U.S. 93.

An intoxicated woman was yelling at customers in the parking lot of a grocery store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. She was gone when deputies arrived.

A man broke a window on a house on Corbett Lane in Coram.

Parts of a mobile home on Helena Flats Road were removed.

A purse was stolen from a tavern in Hungry Horse.

The Flathead County Alcohol Enforcement team arrested 16 youths for possessing alcohol over the weekend. Seven were cited at a house party off Montana 40 near Columbia Falls and nine were cited at a house on Steel Bridge Road. Seven more minors were cited for possessing alcohol by Whitefish police, Kalispell police, and the Montana Highway Patrol.
