MISSOULA - Few things are more dangerous than a talented team on a losing streak.

The Glacier High School boys' soccer team learned that the hard way Tuesday, falling at Missoula Hellgate 7-0 in a Western AA game.

The Knights, who opened their season with a victory over defending Class AA state champion Flathead, had lost two straight matches before unloading on Glacier (1-3).

Garion Holian notched a first-half hat trick as Hellgate sprinted to an insurmountable lead.

"We came out very flat in the first half, and soccer is not the kind of game where you can call a timeout and regroup," Glacier coach Ryan O'Rourke said. "We had to basically wait until halftime to make any adjustments, and by that point we were already down 5-0."

Lowell Chandler, Bryan Nickerson, Ben Corwin and Cy Gilbert scored once apiece as the Knights out-shot the Wolfpack 23-10.

"They played very well," O'Rourke said. "They moved the ball well, they were very creative."
