POLSON - There wasn't much drama in the Bulldogs' 21st straight victory.

Matt Grindrod notched a hat trick as the Whitefish High School boys' soccer team blanked Polson 8-0 Thursday in a Northern A match.

Alex Konopatzke and Preston Taylor each scored twice, while Jonas Magstadt added a goal and four assists.

Tyler Gardner was again stellar on defense for Whitefish (6-0, 3-0), which has allowed just three goals all season. The Bulldogs out-shot the Pirates 27-3.

"They're a real good team," Polson coach Jess Kittle said. "They handled the ball real well. They had some great passing and they looked sharp out there."

Polson's conference opener featured 42 total fouls, and the Pirates dropped to 0-3-1 overall.

"I was real happy with how we played the first half, but the second half we started to have more trouble," Kittle said. "We don't have the depth on our bench that they do."

"We've been working hard on creativity in the attack, and it paid off today," Whitefish coach Lini Reading said. "The kids moved well off the ball, they anticipated."
