Grace Lynette (Moore) Scheffelmear, 49, a claims manager from Shelby, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, due to heart failure.

Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the Whitted Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, at the Whitted Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Brian Scheffelmear of Downey, Calif.; sons, Donn J. Alexander of Shelby, and David D. Moore of Spangdahlem AFB, Germany; sister, Penny, and Jim Horner, of Whitefish; brothers, Duane and Cathy Moore, and Brad Moore, both of Whitefish; grandson, Cade Alexander, of Great Falls; aunts, Elizabeth Jackson of Seattle, Carol Lockwood of Polson, and Grace Lattrel of Eugene, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Gene Moore.

She was born Aug. 28, 1958, in Shelby to Harry and Margaret (Hanes) Moore, where she graduated from high school in 1976. She then attended business school in Great Falls for two years.

Grace worked as a claims manager for Watkins-Shepard Trucking at their Shelby and Helena locations for many years. She and her husband Brian had been together since 1995 and moved to California in 2000. She had just recently moved back to Shelby to live.

She had been an active member in the Elks, Moose and the JayCee's. Grace enjoyed reading, ceramics, arts and crafts, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
