A Kila man charged with 15 counts of sexual assault is scheduled to be arraigned this week.

Michael John Lindberg, 42, is accused of performing various unwanted sex acts on a 16-year-old girl.

The alleged assaults occurred between December 2006 and August 2007, according to court documents.

The nature of the abuse became progressively worse over time, the documents show.

The victim reported the alleged assaults, which occurred in Flathead County, at a Washington police station. The case was forwarded to Flathead County Sheriff's detectives, who arrested Lindberg on Aug. 31.

During interviews with detectives, Lindberg admitted much of the alleged sexual misconduct, court records show.

After agreeing to take a polygraph test, Lindberg reportedly called the test off before it was conducted, saying that there was "no reason to take a lie detector. The allegations… are true," according to court documents.

He is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Should he post bail, Lindberg must appear before a judge before being released.

If convicted, Lindberg faces up to 100 years in prison and $50,000 in fines for each count.
