Helen Rose Vinje, 92

Helen Rose Vinje, 92, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Health Center Northwest in Kalispell. She was born on July 20, 1915, in Wibaux, the eldest daughter of August and Lena (Wurst) Maier.

In 1935, Helen married Harry Neil Parker of Belton, and they had two daughters, Gloria and Sharon. Neil passed away in May of 1940 in Shelton, Wash.

In 1942, she married Clifford Vinje and they were later divorced.

Helen was very active in community work. She volunteered with the Kalispell School District Swish Program, Flathead County Library (both as a volunteer and an employee) and Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She was also a member of the Eagles.

She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Hellman and husband Bernie of Kalispell, and Sharon McManus-Parker of Sumner, Wash.; five grandchildren, Neil Shaw of Kalispell, Linda and Orrion French of Missoula, Keith and Chris McManus of Portland, Thomas McManus of Kent, Wash., and Pamela and Doug Nuckolls of Kalispell; great-grandchildren, Colby and Kelly Shaw of Kalispell, Angela Lobel of Missoula, Jeremy McManus of Spokane, Whitney McManus of Capron, Ill., Breanna and Roy Wickum of Seeley Lake, and Anthony 'AJ' Ovnicek of Kalispell; and five great-great-grandchildren, Hanah and Leah Lobel of Missoula, Cameron Shaw of Kalispell, and Raina and Jade Wickum of Seeley Lake.

Memorial services for Helen will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation.
