Whitefish, Polson win golf titles

FRENCHTOWN -The one-two punch of Sam Krause and Ryan Zalucky put Whitefish on top in the boys' team standings while Whitefish's Ashley Archer claimed medalist honors in girls' play Monday at the Frenchtown Invitational golf tournament.
Krause and Zalucky both shot 73 as Whitefish blew the field away with a 304 total.
Hamilton finished second and 22 shots behind.
Andre Groschupf turned in a 78 and Daniel Marcus an 80 to give the Bulldogs four scorers in the top 10.
Krause and Zalucky tied for third, Groschupf was eighth and Marcus tied for 10th.
Casey Moen of Frenchtown and Jake Wilson of Hamilton led the boys with 71s.
Archer finished on top of the leaderboard for the first time this season. Her 81 was three shots better than Julia DiGiallonardo of Polson, Chelsie Moquist of Anaconda and Chelsea Ray of Whitefish.
Polson topped the girls' field with a 357 score. Whitefish was second, 363.
Also in the top 10 were Polson's Natalia Arlint and Whitefish's Quinn Micklewright, both tied for eighth place with 91s, and Whitefish's Kiley McConnell, 92, who tied for 10th.
