Joshua Scott Shanahan, 24, was born Sept. 5, 1983, to Ted and Shawn Shanahan in Salt Lake City, and raised in Kalispell. Josh lived a fulfilling life surrounded by friends and family. Friday, April 4, 2008, he passed on, in his Kalispell home.

Josh found joy in every ordinary moment and shared it with everyone he encountered. He engaged wholeheartedly in each of his passions including paintball, basketball, swim team, band, dancing, kayaking, X-box, and countless others.

He was a lifeguard/instructor at Bruckhauser pool, started a profitable business, and became a staking engineer for Flathead Electric. He attended Montana State University and most recently Flathead Valley Community College, diligently working toward an engineering degree. His ambition, integrity, and determination brought success to everything he touched.

He had big dreams and exactly what it took to reach each one.

He had an irresistible personality, extraordinary character, and an astounding understanding of people. He genuinely cared for others, and gave without expecting something in return.

He is survived by his parents, and brother, Jason; grandparents, Kenneth and Virginia Shanahan, Colleen and Frank Folwell, and Ed and Sandy Zontek, and girlfriend, Arrika LaSalle, who will always cherish the time they had with Josh and the blessings he brought to their lives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, followed by burial at C.E. Conrad Cemetery.
