Two FHS wrestlers ink with colleges

Two Flathead wrestlers have signed National letters of intent for wresting.

Tyler Wells, 2008 state champion and a three-time state placer for the Braves, has signed with Division I North Dakota State University.

Wells, who wrestled at 152 this past winter, recorded a 40-3 record and was a Flathead team captain.

He'll wrestle at 157 or 165 pounds at NDSU.

He carries a 3.0 GPA and intends to major in business administration.

Another 2008 state champion, David Lau, has signed with NAIA wrestling powerhouse Dickenson State.

Another three-time state placer, Lau won this year at 160 pounds - and was runner-up in 2007 at that weight. He also placed fifth as a sophomore.

Lau carries a 3.2 GPA and was also a Flathead captain.

He was also a second team all-state football player and is a member of the Braves' track team.

He plans to major in vocational edcuation in teaching with a coaching minor.

The Flathead Braves have won state the last three years and four of the last five years.

The Braves ended this past season ranked No. 10 in the nation by Amateur Wrestling News.
