Eureka nets C-Falls; Bigfork tops Libby

EUREKA - Eureka came close to sweeping all the action, defeating Columbia Falls 6-1 in a girls' tennis dual Tuesday.

Columbia Falls' Sarah Marcille spoiled the day for the Lions, posting a 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 victory over Martina Quade at No. 1 singles.

"The only loss we had," Eureka coach David Loy said. "The first two sets were really good tennis. Sarah Marcille went to state last year and played really well. So did Martina."

Loy was pleased with the final results in general.

"My other players played awfully well," he said. "This is probably the best we've played with singles."

Bigfork sweeps Libby

LIBBY - Bigfork came out on top twice, defeating Libby 5-2 in boys' tennis play and 4-3 in girls' action.

Libby's boys won at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles, while Libby's girls won at Nos. 1-2 singles and No. 3 doubles.
