Flathead County sheriff

While a man with license plates out of Browning was dropping somebody off at Glacier Park International Airport, a little dog escaped from the car. The man allegedly caught the dog, "slam dunked" it between the seats, and then began punching it. Flathead County sheriff's deputies and animal wardens are investigating.

Someone dumping oil on Mennonite Church Road, ostensibly for dust control, was reported for violating environmental regulations.

Two dogs that escaped from the county animal shelter on Cemetery Road were caught.

A man in camouflage pants was hanging around a Shady Lane residence. He was gone when deputies arrived.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested two 21- and 46-year-old men with misdemeanor city warrants at a bakery on Fourth Avenue West.

Two students were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after a fight at Columbia Falls High School.

A pit bull was reported stolen from a Martha Road residence.

While searching a stolen 1995 Lexus sedan on Montana 35, Lincoln County sheriff's deputies and Libby police recovered more than 8 pounds of marijuana and 1 pound of hashish. A 31-year-old Kalispell man was arrested and ticketed on suspicion of drug possession.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a hit gas line on Maple Drive and reports of gas odors on Conrad Drive.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to reports of a gas smell at a bar on Central Avenue.
