Leona Pierce Marsh, 90

Leona Pierce Marsh, 90, of Kalispell, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. She was born Aug. 20, 1917, in Roy, the daughter of Heber O. and Gertrude Blanche (McKeever) Pierce.

She attended country schools in Roy, completing the eighth grade.

She enjoyed music and sang, and played the guitar and harmonica. She was also an accomplished artist. She specialized in western art and wildlife, and especially enjoyed painting scenic pictures of Glacier Park. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her flower garden.

She married Russell Marsh on Dec. 30, 1936, in Roy. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking pies and being around her family.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, in 1976; her parents; three infant children; a sister, Phyllis Carter; and three brothers, Max, Ronald and Douglas Pierce.

She is survived by a son, Larry Marsh, of Kalispell; two daughters, Jean Hansen and husband, Mike, and Lynn Sager and husband, Gary, all of Kalispell; seven grandchildren, Whitney, Scott and Rob Hansen, all of Kalispell; Jeremy Sager of Tillamook, Ore., Brandie Lake and Trevor Sager, both of Kalispell, and Tana Poor of Waterton, N.Y.; 16 great-grandchildren, Ashley M., Conrad, Ashley N., Christine, Hayden, Austin, Leya, Shanlee, Nakota, Jenna, Julian, Macy, Ashton, Briar, Hunter and Tia Marie; a brother, Jack Pierce, of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Elgeva Gonzales and husband Jose of Denver; and a special niece, Lois Swallow and husband, Kip, of Kalispell.

There are no services planned at this time for Leona. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
