Flathead sheriff

A North Belmar Drive resident observed a Ford pickup drive into a nearby field and stop. The driver got out, picked something up, and then drove away. The resident called Flathead County sheriff's deputies about this activity, but the truck was gone when they arrived.

A woman and her friend reportedly were verbally assaulted in the parking lot on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.

Someone selling magazines on Caroline Road made a resident suspicious, and deputies were called.

A man on Pleasant Valley Road refused to give a woman her keys. Both subjects had been drinking.

A Many Lakes Drive woman locked herself in the bathroom after she was attacked by a bat. The bat was gone when animal wardens arrived.

The owner of a red 1994 Ford Taurus reported his vehicle stolen from a Coram bar. The keys had been left inside.

Two tires were slashed on a school van in Lakeside.

Someone broke into a Somerset Drive garage and took a bicycle and beer.

Property was damaged in a crash on Conrad Drive.

An intoxicated man was going door to door on West Cottonwood Drive, looking for the person who allegedly beat up his sister.

A man who showed up at an Upper Whitefish Lake campground with two women and a bunch of children was reported for taking pictures of other campers and generally being strange. He was gone when deputies arrived.

Equipment was damaged at a substation near a neighborhood off Montana 35 in Creston.

Kalispell police

Two men used the emergency exit at a West Idaho Street grocery store to run off with four cases of beer. Kalispell police took the report.

An air conditioner and other items were stolen from a construction site on Appleway Drive.

A window was broken out of a car on Fifth Avenue East. Thumb drives and a backpack were stolen out of a car on Grandview Drive. CDs were taken from a car on Bluestone Drive. A CD player was taken from a car on First Avenue East.

Someone broke into a Bluestone Drive garage and took food and beer from the refrigerator.

Saddles were stolen from the parking lot at Flathead Valley Community College, and medication was stolen from a residence on First Avenue East North.

Someone drove a truck through the yard of a North Belmar Drive home.

Officers arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of partner assault and disorderly conduct while investigating reports of suspicious activity at a bar on Airport Road.

Officers arrested two boys on suspicion of curfew violations and possession of tobacco on 10th Avenue West.

Beer went missing from a keg cooler at an Austin Street home. The owner's car also was rifled through.

Clothes, a backpack, a towel, a bathing suit, and a cell phone were stolen at Woodland Park pool.

Officers received 73 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of disorderly conduct after he allegedly tried to start a fight at a Central Avenue bar.

Several cars were dented in the parking lot of a hotel on Fourth Street East.

Officers received 40 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Falls police

When Columbia Falls police took a peek into an oddly parked car, they noticed the keys inside. The keys were taken to the station, where the owner picked them up.

Several residents with out-of-control weeds on their property were warned about the city's noxious-weed ordinance.

People fighting on Nucleus Avenue went their separate ways.

Officers told a man asking to post strange notes at local churches to move along.

Officers received 20 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department extinguished garbage burning behind a restaurant on the corner of Main and Idaho streets.

The Smith Valley Fire Department responded to reports of a road blockage on U.S. 2 near the fire hall and reports of smoke on Mount Creek Drive.

The Olney Fire Department responded to a crash on U.S. 93 near mile marker 144. Nobody was injured, but a boat and trailer rolled in the collision.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a crash at the intersection of Woodland Park Drive and Shady Lane.

The Somers Fire Department and Lakeside Quick Response Unit responded to a crash on U.S. 93. All occupants of the cars involved were out and walking.
