Flathead County sheriff

A man resisted when Flathead County sheriff's deputies tried to arrest him on suspicion of starting fires along U.S. 93 near the Lake County line. He went to the hospital after a deputy used a Taser on him and then was arrested.

A Columbia Meadows Drive resident may already have won $5,000 - at least, that's what the check he received in the mail implied. After he deposited it, however, he began to suspect that perhaps the check was not legit.

When a driver asked a man to get out of the road in Hungry Horse, the pedestrian apparently took offense. He hopped into the vehicle's passenger side and the two started fighting - until the car ran into a tree.

A $30 phone was reported stolen at a Chinese restaurant. Later, the same restaurant reported a dine-and-dash incident; a customer left without paying for a $16.45 meal.

A contractor reportedly disconnected a well on Overlook Trail.

A gas can and tools were stolen from a South Cedar Drive residence.

Several fights and assaults were reported in Bad Rock Canyon, but deputies were unable to locate most of the alleged conflicts.

Fowl play is not suspected in the death of osprey at a Bigfork golf course. It apparently hit the bank while diving for a fish in a pond.

One woman threatened another at the Kila dump site.

Deputies arrested the man who created a disturbance at Tally Lake Campground when he said he was going to "kill the Canadians."

Deputies received 184 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Kalispell police

A caller on Quincy Loop heard a man tell his daughter he was going to "shoot her with a gun" and heard him knock her to the ground. Kalispell police arrested him.

A bank employee accidentally deposited money into the wrong account, and the money was spent before the error was noticed.

Two large flower pots were stolen from in front of a house on Seventh Avenue East.

An officer arrested a 44-year-old man on his second drunken-driving charge.

The 3-year-old reported missing from a Sixth Avenue West residence was found safely asleep in the garage.

Someone reported seeing four youths pulling flowers from beds along Main Street. When officers arrived, they arrested one boy on suspicion of criminal mischief, minor in possession of tobacco and obstructing an officer; one man on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon and criminal mischief; and another man on suspicion of obstructing an officer.

At least six boys were ejected from the movie theater for underage drinking.

A caller witnessed someone breaking into a vehicle on Second Avenue West-North and heard glass shattering. The officer who investigated discovered the car's owner had broken the window after searching unsuccessfully for his keys.

Two men on skateboards were leaving a bar on U.S. 93 when they met a man with a pit bull on a leash. According to the skaters, the man released his dog and told it to "sic 'em." The dog made contact but didn't break the skin.

While investigating a report of two suspicious men at a high school, police arrested one man on suspicion of drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and open container.

The woman officers arrested for drunken driving also may face an unauthorized use or stolen-vehicle charge. The vehicle's owner was going to wait until she was sober to decide whether to pursue charges.

Three young men left an East Idaho restaurant without paying their $50 tab.

A Getty Drive resident told police his verbally abusive neighbors were throwing beer bottles at his house. When an officer arrived, the neighbors picked up the bottles but still were disruptive. They were advised to go back in the house for the rest of the night.

Vandals broke the rear window out of a car and the driver's side window out of another car parked on Sherwood Lane on Friday night. Both windows were valued at $500. A sign at the intersection of Sherwood and Parkway was stolen the same evening.

Officers received 92 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish police arrested a 16-year-old girl on suspicion of partner/family member assault.

Officers received 52 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police are investigating a shoplifting reported at a supermarket.

Officers received 11 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Coram, Hungry Horse and Martin City fire departments went to a mobile home fire Friday on Trout Avenue.
